Mr. Peebles,
My email address on the WCC is current – alphusknight@hotmail.com. I did not receive the scans. If you would please re-send them. Thank you for your assistance.

For those who are interested, I still have a few Federal soldier requests yet to share, so if you're looking for a pen pal, please write, phone, or PM me. The only rule is that you've got to be in the NCWA to participate and attend events. Those who miss an event, I'll do my best to snail mail your letter to you so that you've have time to respond before the next event. Next time out for the post office, Duncan's Mills, followed with Tres Pinos.

Letters for Duncan Mills?
Pvt. Olesen,
I'm wondering what plans you have for the Duncan Mills event, and where do you suppose you will be set up? I'm guessing that you will have a post office in civilian camp, but since the area there is so large, I hope that you've contacted Debi Taylor to get you a space within the NCWA rows of town. BTW, anything that you want me to write in the Dispatch about your post office?

Mrs. Peebles,
Messer’s Anderson, Tidd, and Knight will be in attendance at Duncan Mills with the Post office up and running. We will function mostly as we did at Gibson – the main Military camp deliveries will take place after the battles and we will cease military deliveries by mid-day on Sunday. We are trying to develop a schedule for delivery rounds in civilian camp. I have contacted Mrs. Taylor and we will be in the civilian camp. In the Dispatch, If you would encourage everyone to take advantage of our business and write letters and send parcels. If there are any questions or suggestions you may publish my email address alphusknight@hotmail.com
Once again, thank you for your assistance and support.

Ah, yes, I suppose now I should call you Mr. Knight, instead of your old persona of Pvt. Olesen. I think that many are rather excited with your new post office, and likely it will be a very busy impression for you. For weeks after Gibson Ranch, most of the phone calls that I received from civy friends were how great your new impression had been. People Love the new PO!
I'll be sure to send a forwarded letter to many folks to be sure to get their letters done before the event, ready for posting! Personally, I'll have a pile of letters, plus a parcel for which I have a few Adams Co. stamps, however, I'm not sure if they would have still been used during war time. They were a gift from fellow forum member, Chris Ownsby. If you're interested in them, I could make a copy for Mr. Knight's business.

still waiting to hear.........
Oh, I thought one other thing, of the 36 folks who submitted their names for pen pals, only 6 were not chosen. The reason for this is simply because these men didn't provide enough information about their character persona. Consequently, if anyone knows the email of these fellows, please forward this message and ask them to contact me at my email, CWdrygoods@aol.com
Shawn Hutchinson, Jeff Grolbert, Tom Camp, Tracey Bird, Dan Bishop, and James Clark.

Mrs. Peebles
After the success of Gibson I thought I had better up-date my signature. I’m happy to hear the folks are enjoying the Post office as much as we are. The Adams Co. is most certainly correct for use during wartime. They are one of the examples we researched and at one time considered doing them as our impression. They are still in business today and copies would be much appreciated.
I know some of the 6 who had incomplete information for pen pals. I have contacted their 1st sergeant (who is one of the 6) for them to get in touch with you.

Patriotic envelopes
For anyone who is interested, I've recreated some of the patriotic envelopes and stationary that was available at that time. Right now I have 4-5 variations and will hopefully have a few more by DM. I'll have the sutler impression set up near Federal headquarters.

Wonderful News Nelson! We sure look forward to seeing you at DM!
BTW, for those who need to send parcels, I have scanned some Adams Co. stamps, a gift from good friend Chris Ownsby, so that we will have period correct packages. If you wish a copy of these stamps, contact me, otherwise they will also be on the NCWA.org site or in the August Dispatch newsletter.
Happy Summer Everyone.
